An interview with Barbara about her VIP Day experience
Barbara is an alternative therapist with her own business.
How were things for you before your VIP Day?
I was feeling particularly stuck in a work area. I have my own therapy business and I was struggling to find a niche which I knew I wanted to identify. I had too many options and I just couldn’t decide which one would be best niche for me. Also, I was having a lot of doubts about one of those niche ideas.
I was feeling a very confused and unmotivated because my thoughts and actions were scattered all over the place. I wasn’t moving forward, I was stuck doing bits here and there and not really applying it to anything. This has been holding me back for the past 12 months.
What did you want to achieve in your VIP Day?
I wanted to choose my niche, to feel confident and comfortable with that decision and to know where I was going next.
Tell us about your VIP Day
Gosh we covered so much. We did lots of talking, Jo asked me lots of questions and really probed. We did lots of exercises to help me make decisions and to help me be clear about what I wanted. It was fun and relaxed and I felt comfortable that we were going at my pace. There was time to think and I didn’t feel rushed or pressured at any point.
Tell us more
First of all I wanted to be clear on where I was going and we did several exercises to clarify that. To my amazement some of the things that I thought were priorities, weren’t actually such a huge priority and I realised that other things I wasn’t focusing on so much were more important to me. I am now so much clearer about my priorities and what matters to me.
Jo then helped me to set goals and to prioritise those goals. This has always been quite difficult for me to do and she made it very clear and simple and fun to do. Again it helped clarify my priorities and was very revealing. I had some big revelations, especially regarding one area that I thought was my top priority and I realised it wasn’t number one at all!
In doing that we worked through a limiting belief I had that had been holding me back. That was fantastic and a complete revelation to me. I got rid of that limiting belief, very easily and surprisingly quickly. I am very grateful for that, it will no longer get in my way.
Then we did a great exercise which was a budget planner. I have tried to do these in the past but I have no head for figures and just looking at numbers just turns me cold. Jo helped me through the exercise and made it very, very simple and we worked out how much I need to earn or generate to create the life I want.
And then we went through a fantastic brainstorming session in how to generate that income and we came up with lots of new ideas and some old ideas I was putting on the back burner that I am now quite fired up about pursuing. We prioritised the ideas and I have lots of other backup options should I decide I want to follow those at any time, it’s nice to have those in place as well.
Then we did some exercises on my niche. Through lots of careful questioning and the exercises I was able to finally (after a year of deliberating!) choose my niche. Hurrah!
What did you take away from the day?
I left with a very clear view of my goals and priorities and how I want my life to be and a clear understanding of what I want to earn and how I might generate that income.
It was very revealing; I learnt a lot about myself and got rid of two limiting beliefs that were holding me back.
I have chosen my niche (this is huge for me) and I can now move forward.
As well as being clear about the way forward, now I can actually put all the rest aside and really focus on my specialist area. I feel as if my mind is much clearer and has been de-cluttered as I now haven’t got all that other stuff hanging around in there.
I was really energised and felt empowered and want to get my teeth stuck into moving forward.
What’s next for you?
I’m going to complete the next steps that I agreed with Jo and report back to her next week.
I’m feeling very excited and I feel finally I can actually start moving forward and really apply myself to my chosen niche.
Jo talks about “clarity, focus, motivation and confidence” and I certainly acquired this in my session!
Would you recommend a VIP day with Jo?
Absolutely, I would highly recommend this, without doubt. It was fantastic. It was fun and very informative. We covered so much in one day. It’s taken me months to try and start thinking about this issue, all that time I have agonised and wasted time, whereas in just one day, I have cleared all that up and taken the stress out of it, because now I am clear about what I’m going to do. I am so focused, so yes, I highly recommend it.
